Our values
At Seasons of East we have a genuine passion for sustainability which we have incorporated into every element of our sewing business. We are a vegan run, plastic free company and source each component part that makes up our paper patterns as ethically and sustainably as possible. We have thoughtfully designed our product, packaging our patterns in Oeko-Tex cotton bags so they can be reused and therefore have a second life beyond their original purpose (for example as a toiletries bag or they make great gift bags)!

Fabric
We now stock a small selection of beautiful fabrics on our website which compliment our patterns perfectly, however in line with our ethics we will never stock fabrics that have contributed to animal cruelty including leather, silk and wool.
Paper patterns
Our paper patterns are printed in the UK on PEFC UK certified paper. PEFC is an international non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management working through the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice and ensure that any products are produced to the highest ecological, social and ethical standards.
Cotton bags
Our bags are made from 100% Oeko-Tex certified cotton and are fully recyclable. They are ethically manufactured in the EU under excellent working conditions which follow the European Union Trade and Production laws and adhere to strict quality controls which meet safety, ecological and ethical standards. All products are made to measure so there is virtually no waste, but any waste fabric during the manufacturing process is recycled into cleaning cloths.
Booklets and bands
Our booklets and bands are printed in the UK on paper that is made from 100% post consumer waste, manufactured using 100% renewable energy and processed using chlorine free practices. Any carbon used in the supply chain is offset through the protection and creation of habitats through the World Land Trust and Forest Carbon Schemes.
Packaging
Your order will arrive in packaging made from 100% recycled materials which is sourced from the Green Stationery Company, a completely green business based in the UK and our vegan tissue paper is made from recycled pulp fibres, PH neutral and is fully recyclable. We use 100% natural jute twine which is biodegradable and compostable.
