Join us at the Sew Sustainable Fair organised by Sarah Richards from Vintage Fabric Shop, Olive Road London. The idea for this new sewing event came from a group of small businesses who promote sewing sustainably. The nature of making our own clothes is a protest against the fast fashion industry and considering where we buy our fabric and sewing supplies is the next step.
You can browse the beautiful products from a number of sewing related businesses all with a focus on sustainability. There will also be workshops (including a Seasons of East Spring in London workshop where we will teach you how to make your own slouchy t-shirt), a talk on “How to be more sustainable in our sewing” by Zoe Edwards from Check your Thread podcast and a pop up cafe.
